Despite some rumblings I saw online in the days prior to its official release, as of this post I see that Clayface is doing well in the review department. It sits at 75% critic and 92% audience on Rotten Tomatoes as I write this (if you care about that sort of thing).

Clayface is the story of Matt Hagen, an actor whose face becomes disfigured, and the procedure to fix it turns him into a malleable monster. The movie is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran‘s DC Universe, though I’m assured that it works perfectly fine as a standalone body-horror experience.
Tom Rhys Harries stars as Matt Hagen/Clayface, and Naomi Ackie plays Dr. Caitlyn Corr, the scientist who performs the procedure on Matt. Max Minghella, Eddie Marsan, and David Dencik are also in the main cast.

This Clayface movie began as a passion project for Mike Flanagan. He pitched the film to DC Studios, but scheduling conflicts forced him to drop out of directing so James Watkins (Eden Lake, Speak No Evil) ended up directing Clayface. The script was originally written by Flanagan, and Hossein Amini was brought in to do rewrites.

Clayface is now playing in theaters everywhere.
