Making the rounds today is an interview of Eli Roth done by Edward Douglas on “The Weekend Warrior Show” on YouTube. The video of the interview was posted on August 4, 2026, but people (including me) are just now finding out about it.

The interview was mostly for Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man which hit theaters in August, but towards the end of their discussion the subject of the Hostel TV series was brought up. In 2024, it was revealed by The Hollywood Reporter that a Hostel series was being developed by Roth, and Paul Giamatti would star in it. We haven’t heard much about it since, and that’s because it’s not happening anymore.

Eli Roth told Edward Douglas that, “Peacock said no [to a Hostel series], they’re not gonna do it. We were surprised, and that’s their decision.”

Roth went on to say, “Chris Briggs and I wrote the scripts and we love them, and I definitely want to turn them into something. So it might not be a TV series, but I still want to continue Hostel.”
