Spooky Ranch is a Halloween version of Original Ranch: black dressing sold in a glow-in-the-dark 12-oz bottle. The flavor hasn’t changed. Hidden Valley says fruit juice and cocoa create the color, with no artificial flavors.
The limited-edition bottle is rolling out exclusively at Walmart for a suggested $3.97 while supplies last. The ranch itself doesn’t glow. That’s the bottle.
The company calls Spooky Ranch its first seasonal grocery product. Hidden Valley has done Halloween promotions before, but they used its regular dressing. In 2021, it sold a $40 life-size bottle costume, a $35 pizza couples costume and a $20 bag containing 30 treat-size ranch packets.
Candy-corn ranch never made it past the rumor stage. Hidden Valley said in 2021 that it didn’t have a limited-edition candy-corn ranch, and Snopes rated the viral product claim false in 2023.
Spooky Ranch joins several Halloween grocery releases at Walmart this year. The $1.18 Cup Noodles Vampire Noodles turn red using vegetable color, while SunnyD’s limited SpookyD comes in a mystery flavor.
