If You Loved ‘Kiss the Girls’ (1997), You’ll Love ‘Cross’ on Prime Video
Detective Alex Cross is back in ‘Cross’ on Prime Video.
Kiss the Girls is an iconic 90s psychological thriller about Dr. Alex Cross (played by Morgan Freeman), a genius forensic psychologist who investigates a serial killer known as “Casanova”. The killer abducts talented women and “collects” them, keeping them locked in rooms in an underground cave. Dr. Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd) is the first victim to escape and teams up with Alex Cross to hunt down Casanova. The movie is a perennial favorite among crime thriller fans.
A new detective show on Prime Video rebirths the story of cerebral detective Alex Cross. Cross sees Aldis Hodge playing the title character, a DC family man adept at seeing into the minds of both killers and victims. He uses his prodigious skill to goad perpetrators into slipping up and to solve difficult cases.
Both Cross and Kiss the Girls are based on the detective Alex Cross character created by James Patterson, who wrote 32 novels featuring the character. The stories are so addicting because of the cat and mouse game between Cross and the criminals he attempts to bring to justice. Cross’ almost superhuman knowledge of the human mind allows him to hunt down answers in even the most “unsolvable” cases.
Fans of murder mysteries, psychological thrillers and crime procedurals will want to tune in. Cross hits Prime Video this Thursday. All eight episodes of season one will be available at once.
Catch Cross on Prime Video Nov. 14.
