One of 2025’s Most Underrated Horror Movies Is Now Streaming Free for Anyone With Prime

Especially for fans of classic horror movies.

Julia Garner stars in Wolf Man (2025), now included in Prime Video.

Leigh Whannell, famous for writing horror movies like Saw (2004), Insidious (2010) and The Invisible Man (2020), wrote and directed a reboot of the Universal classic monster, Wolf Man (2025). Because Wolf Man didn’t get great reviews when it came out, many people have skipped over this movie entirely. But Wolf Man is worth watching and it is now included in Prime Video.

The movie has two great actors at its helm: Julia Garner and Christopher Abbott as Blake and Charlotte, a couple vacationing at a cabin in the Oregon mountains with their daughter. An attack by a wolf-like creature turns the trip into a fight for survival when Blake shows signs of a vicious transition. Charlotte is left to defend her daughter from the creature outside and the danger within.

Currently the 8th most popular movie on Prime Video, Wolf Man is the 29th best horror movie of 2025 according to our master ranking of over 100 horror movies released this year:

Wolf Man is good. After Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man (2020), many people were probably expecting Wolf Man to be great. But it’s good. The most interesting aspect of Wolf Man is how it treats becoming a werewolf like a disease rather than a curse like in The Wolf Man from 1941. Other movies since that Universal classic have treated werewolves like an infection, but few focus on the werewolf’s deteriorating mental and physical state as deeply as Wolf Man. The best moments in the movie are when the audience is shown what a husband and father sees and hears as the wolf takes over his body. As for everything else in the movie, it’s a fine genre effort.

Stream Wolf Man now on Prime Video.
