If you’re looking for your next horror-comedy, Ready or Not is now streaming on Netflix.

The film follows Grace, played by Samara Weaving, who believes she is marrying into a wealthy family. On her wedding night, her new in-laws ask her to draw a card as part of a “family tradition.” She draws hide-and-seek and quickly learns the game is not symbolic. Relatives hunt her through the estate until dawn with guns, crossbows, and other weapons. If she survives, she is accepted. If they catch her, the ritual requires a death. Grace refuses to play by their rules.

Directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the team behind later Scream films, the horror-comedy was made for about $6 million and grossed $57 million. It found a much larger audience when it became a Netflix hit in 2024, and a sequel arrived this year.
