Rosamund Pike will star in and produce the body horror film Feed, playing a “Momfluencer” named Erin whose ambitions for her young gymnast daughter lead her to a supplement promising influencer success. As their popularity rises, the girl starts undergoing a monstrous transformation.

Pike’s role is a mother who sees online fame as a way to keep her daughter safe.
Leslye Headland, known for Russian Doll, will direct a screenplay by Daniella Isaacs, inspired by the 2022 Finnish film Hatching.
Pike described Erin as a “Momfluencer” pursuing her daughter’s dominance online. In a statement about the project, she said she’d wanted to explore “our obsession with social media and self-improvement, our desire for fame without notable admirable skill and, let’s put it out there, the monstrosity of modern motherhood.”
The story follows the competing appetites of a single mother seeking success for her child, a teenage girl seeking fame and independence, and online communities consuming youth and beauty. Headland called Isaacs’ script “audacious, disturbing and deeply human.”
Pike’s company, Primitive Streak, is producing alongside Shelley Browning for Magnolia Entertainment, Steven Schneider for Spooky Pictures, Ara Keshishian and Petr Jakl for ZQ Entertainment, and Sam Ritzenberg for Agile Films. ZQ Entertainment financed the script’s development.
