What’s up Creepy Catalog?

This week has felt slightly less like a real life horror movie than last week. There’s a possibility of $1,400 more of stimulus money on the horizon and I’m itching to spend mine on a post-pandemic road trip to as many haunted hotels as possible. Maybe we can all band together and use ours to buy the Lizzie Borden murder house/bed and breakfast which hit the market this week.

The most bizarre news of the week by far is this bonkers story about Armie Hammer being possibly outed by a cannibal. Since the DMs were leaked, his camp has denied that Hammer is actually a cannibal, but a few of his exes have come forward with stories of abuse. It’s kind of never not concerning when a guy says he wants to cut off his lover’s toe and “keep it”.

I also learned about a lawsuit the 1.9 billion dollar The Conjuring franchise is facing. Despite portraying real life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren as a loving couple, a woman has revealed in a sworn statement that she was groomed by Ed Warren since they met when the woman was 15-years-old and Ed was her school bus driver. I knew the Warrens have a bad reputation but I attributed it to anti-religious bias. Now I’m not so sure I want to see another Conjuring movie…

Best of Netflix:

Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer. This documentary just dropped on the platform Wednesday. It follows two Los Angeles detectives in 1985 as they struggle to catch the Night Stalker killer that had the city living in fear.

Best of Hulu:

Hounds of Love. A gruesome Australian thriller about a young woman who is kidnapped by a demented couple. In captivity, she tries to pit them against each other in order to save her life. You can read about the real life murder couple who inspired the script here.

Best of Prime:

Deadlocked. A new horror movie about a group of people in an elevator during the outbreak of a zombie apocalypse. The group fights for survival against an infected passenger and the zombie hoard waiting for them outside. It has decent reviews so far!
