Inherit is from director and co-writer Banjong Pisanthanakun, the director of Medium (2021), Pee Mak (2013), Alone (2007), and Shutter (2004).
The story of Inherit involves the return of a woman named Woranart to her home. She’s been missing for 50 years, but she doesn’t look like she’s aged at all. Woranart, it seems, is possessed by an ancient centipede spirit, and she’s returned home to pass the spirit’s curse to her granddaughter.
Davika Hoorne (A Useful Ghost, Pee Mak) stars as Woranart, and Baipor Thitiya Jirapornsilp co-stars as her granddaughter Oui. The cast also includes Sinjai Plengpanich, Trin Settachoke, and Warattaya Nilkuha.
Inherit will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival happening September 10-20, 2026.
