The first teaser for Crossed was just released, and even just that one-minute preview is NSFW.
Crossed began as a comic book series written by Garth Ennis (The Boys, Preacher) with artwork from Jacen Burrows. The series is about a worldwide pandemic that turns people into homicidal maniacs who enjoy doing truly terrible things to people. The infected, the “crossed,” are recognized by the red cross that forms on their face as a result of the virus.

Rob Jabbaz is directing the feature-film adaptation of Crossed. Jabbaz is Canadian, and he moved to Taiwan sometime around 2008 where he eventually got into filmmaking. He was approached by a producer to make a zombie movie, and that film became the notoriously violent and bloody film The Sadness.

Jabbaz has said that Garth Ennis’s Crossed was a direct inspiration for The Sadness (along with other influences, such as the work of David Cronenberg). If you’ve seen The Sadness, then you’ll understand just how violent, bloody, and mean it is. That makes Rob Jabbaz a superb choice for directing a movie based on Crossed.
One thing I should note is that the infected in both Crossed and The Sadness aren’t zombies in the traditional sense. They’re living people who are infected, and they retain much of their mind and intelligence. They are driven to do harm, but it’s not a mindless drive driven by instinct. They know what they’re doing, and they enjoy doing it.

Garth Ennis wrote the screenplay for the film version of Crossed, basing it on the first ten issues of the comic book series. The story will follow survivors Stan (Devin Druid) and Cindy (Ash Santos) as they lead a small group of people trying to stay alive as they are constantly in danger of unspeakable harm from the infected.
The cast of Crossed includes Devin Druid, Ash Santos, Ethan Jones Romero, Kyla Hee, Chido Nwokocha, Spenser Granese, Bob Morley, Ana Mulvoy-Ten, Steven Hack, Lorenzo Ross, Owen Harn, Fedor Steer, Kelvin Adekunlem, Angie Campbell, and Peter Falls.
There is no release date yet for Crossed.
