Vince Gilligan and his team have finalized the story for all of Pluribus season 2, with every episode plotted and outlined. Speaking with Collider at Televerse, Gilligan said “the hard part” is done and the scripts are what’s left to write.
Season 2 will follow Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) and Manousos Oviedo (Carlos-Manuel Vesga) as they spend more time together trying to fix the world and explore more of the Joining. At the center of it all is a question: is the world actually better or worse after the alien virus took hold?
The timeline, however, is still a long one. Filming is expected to begin “in a couple of months,” with cameras likely rolling in the later part of fall. Gilligan has said the show won’t return annually but will come back around the same time of year — and since season 1 premiered in November 2025, a late 2027 release looks like the earliest realistic window.
Season 1 ended with Carol bringing an atomic bomb home, and it’s now up for 18 Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress for Seehorn. All episodes are currently streaming on Apple TV.
