8 Highly-Anticipated Horror Movies Releasing in October 2025

It’s time to plan a month full of movie nights as we look forward to the most highly-anticipated horror movies releasing in October 2025. A lot of big movies are coming out this month and this list will take a look at the most-anticipated releases. October 2: Hell House LLC: Lineage
The fifth and final entry into the Hell House LLC franchise. Vanessa Shepard discovers her connection to the Abaddon Hotel, Carmichael Manor, and decades of unexplained murders. Hell House LLC: Lineage premieres on on Shudder on October 2.
October 2: Shelby Oaks
From executive producer Mike Flanagan, Shelby Oaks is a scary supernatural horror movie about a woman who uncovers a secret about her childhood.
October 3: V/H/S/Halloween
The eighth V/H/S film hits Shudder on October 3rd. The Halloween themed anthology will have stories from directors Bryan M. Ferguson, Casper Kelly, Micheline Pitt-Norman, R.H. Norman, Alex Ross Perry, Paco Plaza and Anna Zlokovic.
October 3: Bone Lake
This erotic horror movie follows two couples who mistakenly book the same secluded vacation rental one weekend. Deciding to share the space, the couples’ sex game becomes a battle for survival.
October 3: Coyotes
Real life couple Justin Long and Kate Bosworth star as a couple trapped in their Hollywood Hills home by a wildfire and a pack of evil coyotes. This is a comedy horror movie directed by Colin Minihan (What Keeps You Alive, Grave Encounters).
October 5: Good Boy
This supernatural horror movie features a dog protagonist worried about his humans after the family moves into a haunted house.
October 17: The Black Phone 2
Scott Derrickson returns to direct with Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies, and Miguel Cazarez Mora reprising their roles. Finn recovers from his time in captivity while his sister begins receiving calls from the black phone in her dreams. The Black Phone was based on a story by Joe Hill, and he approved Derrickson’s idea for the sequel’s plot.
October 17: Frankenstein
Written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, Frankenstein is a highly anticipated gothic sci-fi movie that may not actually be a horror movie. Frankenstein will release in theaters on October 17 and then premiere on Netflix on November 7.
