Alyson Hannigan’s Halloween graveyard includes props the Buffy the Vampire Slayer crew used to lend her, then let her keep when the show ended in 2003.

“They used to loan me things for Halloween, and then when the show was over, they’re like, ‘Just take it all,’” Hannigan explained during an Instagram tour of her decorations.

Hannigan, 52, played Willow Rosenberg, Buffy Summers’ best friend, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar throughout the show’s 1997–2003 run. More than 20 years later, pieces of its cemetery scenery are part of her home’s outdoor Halloween display.

Among the tombstones is one bearing the name Ariel Jane. Hannigan also showed a large cross made of metal and wood, asking viewers to help identify where it appeared in the series.

“This, you might recognise from Buffy. It’s been on maybe the credits? You guys tell me! I bet you can tell me when you’ve seen this,” she said.

The cross figures in a season seven scene in which James Marsters’ character, Spike, embraces it after getting his soul back, his body burning against the wood.

Her display also includes a casket with a skeleton posed as though it’s climbing out. Hannigan thinks the skeleton dates back to the show’s first season.

“This was one of the skeletons they would use, I think, first season. So gross, it’s so creepy. I love it!” she said.
