Shauna’s homecoming in the new Yellowjackets season 4 trailer puts her younger self beside the survivor she’s become: as she rides home, a photograph of her as a child hangs near the windshield. Later, she’s lashing out at her mother in their kitchen.

Released November 5, the trailer brings the teenagers back to familiar surroundings that have become unsettling. Shauna’s return means facing the life she left behind, and the version of her that her mother remembers.

Sophie Nélisse, who plays teenage Shauna, explained in April 2025 that her character found freedom in the wilderness and fears a “life of normalcy.” Co-creator Ashley Lyle has also said the creators wanted to explore how the survivors readjust to a world that’s become foreign to them.

That homecoming connects the teenagers’ survival to the adults’ lives. The fourth and final season premieres November 20 on Paramount+ Premium.
