JWoww From ‘Jersey Shore’ Directed a Horror Movie!
‘Devon’ will premiere on Screambox on November 12.
It’s been 15 years since the cast of MTV’s Jersey Shore reality show first hit our television screens. The show was a massive pop culture phenomenon that followed the lives of a group of (mostly) Italian-Americans living in a house on the Jersey Shore. Jersey Shore produced six seasons in its original run, numerous reboots and reunions, 15 international spinoffs and a separate show that followed castmates Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Snooki & Jwoww, which ran for four seasons.
When she first appeared on the show in 2009, Farley was a graphic designer and club promoter. Since then she has dabbled in fashion and acting and won the cooking competition Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition. Now Farley has made her directorial debut with the horror movie Devon, which has been acquired by Cineverse.
The official description for Devon says: “Following their daughter’s mysterious disappearance, Devon’s parents never stopped searching for the truth. After the asylum she disappeared from was condemned, their questions looked like they would remain forever unanswered. Years later, a cryptic website recruits five courageous individuals to explore the abandoned asylum and discover what happened to the girl. Unaware that they are embarking on a perilous, one-way journey, these individuals delve into the sinister depths with only their equipment, leading to a terrifying and deadly experience.”
Farley told Variety, “As a longtime reality TV veteran, I’m excited to kick off this new chapter in the horror movie genre and hope that ‘Devon’ is just the beginning.” It looks like Farley is staying behind the camera this time and the film stars actors Tara Rule, Rotisha Geter, and Hank Santos. We may see some behind the scenes info about Devon if Jersey Shore: Family Vacation gets an eighth season covering the most recent events in the castmates’ lives.
Devon will premiere on Screambox on November 12.
