Mckenna Grace is comfortable taking on horror, but nudity and highly sexual scenes fall outside the roles she’s willing to accept at 20. Explaining her boundaries, she said, “I respect anybody who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that’ll ever change.”

Grace pointed to her character’s violent death at Ghostface’s hands in Scream as an example of how far she’s willing to go in other kinds of material. Her ambitions also include playing a Disney princess someday.

The actress, whose credits include Regretting You, Scream 7 and the upcoming Hunger Games prequel Sunrise on the Reaping, began working as a child on Disney XD’s Crash and Bernstein. She later appeared in The Vampire Diaries, The Haunting of Hill House and Young Sheldon.
Growing up on sets meant navigating conflicting expectations. “As a kid on set, you’re expected to act like an adult until you’re on camera,” she said. “Then you’re a kid until everybody is mad at you because you’re acting like a kid.”
Adulthood has given her more say in how she plays her characters, along with opportunities to bring her ideas to producers. “I’ve really enjoyed sitting down with producers and pitching all my ideas.”
