Nicolas Cage is looking forward to seeing Ryan Gosling take over as Ghost Rider.
Cage played Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider in the 2007 movie and its 2012 sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In 2028, a new Ghost Rider movie is planned for release starring Gosling as the same character.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the premiere of his new movie Madden, Cage said, “Ryan’s going to do his thing with it and I’m looking forward to seeing it. Ryan knows how I feel about him as an actor; we’ve had nice conversations and we stay in touch. I was happy for him and wished him best of luck on his adventures and I look forward to seeing the movie.”
Ghost Rider (2028) will be directed by Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Night at the Museum) and written by Jonathan Tropper (The Adam Project).
Gosling had expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider years before the official announcement was made. It’s a fun coincidence that Gosling and Eva Mendes are married, and Mendes co-starred in the 2007 Ghost Rider. It’s like it was meant to be.
In the comics, many different characters have been an avatar for the Ghost Rider. In live-action, the Robbie Reyes version appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
