‘Black Swan’ Is Now in Theaters (Only Until August 24!)

A special one weekend only engagement.

Black Swan (2010) is back in theaters and in Imax for the first time this weekend.

15 years ago Darren Aronofsky directed a perfect psychological horror movie in Black Swan (2010).

The film stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a ballerina who is thrilled to land the lead role in a production of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake. Nina is perfectly suited for the technical role of the white swan, but struggles to muster the passion and confidence needed for her dual role of the black swan. The pressure of living up to expectations, a demanding and predatory Artistic Director (Vincent Cassel), a narcissistic mother and a new rival named Lily (Mila Kunis) push Nina’s mental health over the edge.

Nina finally comes alive in her final performance as the black swan.

Black Swan was a tremendous success, taking in $330 million on a budget of $13 million and earning five Oscar nominations, with Portman winning the Academy Award for Best Actress.

To celebrate the film’s 15th anniversary, Black Swan has been remastered for Imax and will be shown to fans for one weekend only. From Thursday, August 21 to Sunday, August 24th, Black Swan will be showing at more than 200 Imax locations across the country. This is the first time Black Swan has been screened in Imax, and Searchlight Pictures cut a new trailer in honor of the event:
