Yeah, I know I’ve been posting about Godzilla a lot this week. But I love Godzilla, and I’m excited every time a new movie comes out!
Godzilla Minus Zero started playing in IMAX theaters this past Tuesday (Nov. 3), and, as of Nov. 6, it is now officially in regular theaters as well.
Godzilla Minus Zero is, of course, the sequel to Godzilla Minus One. Just like the previous film, it was written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki. Reviews so far have mostly been very positive. Maybe not quite as universally positive as the review for Minus One, but that movie set an incredibly high bar.
Really, of the few less-than-stellar reviews for Minus Zero I’ve seen so far, many of them seem to come from viewers who might not be familiar with Godzilla movies, or maybe they’re just not familiar Japanese movies in general. I’m sure there are legitimate less-than-stellar reviews as well, but I’m avoiding most of that at least until I see the movie for myself. I’m hoping to get out this weekend to see it!
