Hideo Kojima has found the face of what he’s calling the crowning work of his career. Bill Skarsgård will lead the acclaimed designer’s action-espionage game “Physint,” joining previously announced cast members Charlee Fraser, Don Lee and Minami Hamabe. Kojima confirmed the casting Thursday during Xbox’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 broadcast.
“I’m delighted to confirm the lead role for ‘Physint’ will be Bill Skarsgård,” Kojima said. “We are both long-time fans of each other’s work, and we’ve decided to embark on this new adventure together.”
Kojima said costume fittings, scans and camera tests with Skarsgård and Fraser earlier this year gave him “tremendous confidence in the direction of the project.” Kojima Productions describes “Physint” as the culmination of his 40 years creating video games and says it will combine new technology with its cast to push the action-espionage genre.
The game will be published by Xbox after plans with Kojima Productions’ longtime partner PlayStation were scrapped. The companies say their expanded partnership will also cover film and television projects.
It’s not the only thing Kojima Productions has in the works with Xbox. The studio is also developing “OD,” a horror game made with Jordan Peele and starring Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer. “OD” is planned for release before “Physint.”
