If you don’t know Outside Xbox, they’re a gaming and entertainment channel on YouTube that launched in 2012. Despite the name of the channel, they’ve grown to cover more than just Xbox. They are Andy Farrant, Jane Douglas, Mike Channell, and Ellen Rose who runs their sister channel Outside Xtra.
Every year Outside Xbox celebrates Halloween with Hallowstream, two weeks of horror-game livestreams. They also tend to do more horror videos during that time, and one of those videos this year is the entire crew picking the scariest games they’ve ever played. Here’s the list:

Even though you know the games they chose, I recommend you still go and watch the video. Each pick is supported by commentary about why the games are scary to them. I’ve been watching them for more than a decade now, and they’re super fun.
For me, I think I was most scared playing Silent Hill 2. I first played it soon after it was originally released, and I would only play it late at night, alone, in the dark. I remember the sound of the game really got to me, and there were times I simply stopped playing because I’d come across a new darkened area where I could hear something in the distance, and everything about the situation told me not to see what it was. I remember the elevator quiz scene really unsettled me too.
