Curious Gremlin, one of the producers of They Follow, made the wrap announcement via social media. Maika Monroe returns for this sequel to It Follows, as does writer & director David Robert Mitchell.
Jackie Earle Haley (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010), Justine Lupe (Succession), Michael Gandolfini (Daredevil: Born Again), and Naomi Ackie (Blink Twice) join Maika Monroe in the cast of They Follow.
Plot details are unknown, but it’s said to take place ten years after the events of the original movie.
It Follows was released in theaters in 2015, and it’s about an entity that follows people like a sexually-contracted curse. The entity can only be seen by the person it’s following, and it can look like anyone. It only walks, but it never stops walking. The only way to pass it on is to have relations with someone new, attaching them to the new partner. And if that person is killed, the entity then moves backward in the line of succession to stalk the person who was previously cursed.
Maika Monroe starred in the first film as Jay, a young woman who is intentionally cursed with the entity by someone she thought cared for her.
Neon will be releasing They Follow in the United States, but no release date has been announced yet.
