The Final Girl From ‘Thanksgiving’ Says The Sequel Will Begin Filming This Year
The actress told Variety she hopes to be covered in blood in Thanksgiving 2.
Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving (2023) is a whodunit slasher movie about a group of people in a small town who are terrorized by a masked killer. One year after a superstore’s Black Friday sale turned into a bloodbath, the killer targets the survivors. The deaths lead up to a gruesome Thanksgiving dinner-themed finale in which (spoiler alert) final girl Jessica (Nell Verlaque) survives and the killer is supposedly incinerated in an explosion.
A sequel, Thanksgiving 2, has been greenlit and was first announced with an expected 2025 release date. That date now seems very unlikely but star Nell Verlaque has read parts of the script and says she expects to film this year. Other characters who survived Thanksgiving and may return are Gaby (Addison Rae), Scuba (Gabriel Davenport), Ryan (Manheim) and Bobby (Brooks).
Verlaque is excited to return and hopes for an even gorier story this time around. The actress told Variety she wants to be covered in blood in Thanksgiving 2. During a conversation with writer/director Eli Roth, she told him “I really wanted to be tortured…. Like fully pained [and] tortured… I think it’s more fun as an actor. The crazier, the better for me.”
