Here’s the First Look at Sam Raimi’s New Psychological Thriller ‘Send Help’

“Watching a once-powerful boss find himself dependent on someone he underestimated is satisfying. Our story is universal!”

Rachel McAdams stars in Sam Raimi’s next feature, Send Help (2026).

Sam Raimi is revered among horror fans for writing/co-writing and directing the first three Evil Dead movies. Outside of the genre, he’s achieved mainstream success with Spider-man (2002), Spider-man 2 (2004), Spider-man 3 (2007), Spider-man: No Way Home (2021) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022). His next feature is a psychological thriller starring Rachel McAdams.

The first images from the film were just released to Entertainment Weekly.

Send Help follows McAdams as Linda Liddle, a woman who survives a plane crash and is stranded on an island with the boss she hates, Bradley Preston (Dylan O’Brien). The two sometimes work together and sometimes work against each other as they struggle to survive. McAdams’ character has an interest in survivalism, which may end up proving to her boss that he’s been wrong about her.

McAdams helps her injured boss, played by Dylan O’Brien.

The film will also have elements of black comedy. Raimi described it as “outrageous and original” and said he knew immediately this was a movie he wanted to direct. “What I really love about this story is that it’s an underdog tale at its core. Not only is it about survival on a deserted island, but it’s also a story of female empowerment and transformation…Watching a once-powerful boss find himself dependent on someone he underestimated is satisfying. Our story is universal! We need to encourage our society to treat people with respect and kindness, regardless of status. It’s especially rewarding to see our heroine, Linda, come into her own in such an unexpected environment.”
