The Mythic+ 23 key cleared with just 14 seconds left on the timer, close enough to look like a heroic finish — until players started reading the combat logs.

One ability, called Area Death, instantly killed an enemy sitting at nearly full health. Another, Death Touch, had been used on a boss earlier in the run. Both are internal developer tools, and both were triggered by an account that wasn’t even part of the five-player group.

One of the players later went on stream and admitted asking a “GM friend” to one-shot the remaining enemies so the group wouldn’t have to redo the key. The friend, they said, “was just doing me a solid.”

Blizzard investigated and confirmed that a single employee had used development-only spells on a live realm, in violation of company policy. That employee, the company said, is no longer with Blizzard. The player accounts involved also faced action, and the run has since been flagged as illegitimate on Raider.io.
