December is a perfect time to look back at the past year and reflect on what you’ve accomplished. If you’re like me, it’s also a time to look back at the past twelve months and lament the fact that you didn’t quite meet your new-horror-movie watching goals. But there’s still time! The year isn’t over yet, so now is when we begin a year-end binge to try to catch up on as many horror movies from 2024 as possible before we start all over again in 2025!

Listed below are all of the horror movies released in 2024 that are currently streaming on the most popular subscription services (SVOD – Subscription Video on Demand). Just take a look at the service you’re subscribed to, and you’ll find links to every new horror movie on that app which you can stream as part of your subscription. Included are a few trailers for some of our favorites, and any title you see in bold is a strong recommendation.

Like our main New/Upcoming Horror Movies list, we consider a “2024 release” as any movie that receives its first widely available release in North America during 2024. So, some international movies or movies that took a while to find a distributor will have earlier years listed, but they didn’t receive their first North American wide release until sometime in 2024.

This list is designed to help ease the pain of trying to search through various streaming services. Streamers rarely design their search engines to make it easy to find horror movies by their release year, and even when you can make that search, there are multiple omissions and additions based on the various ways they categorize and date movies. We’ve found that many independent streaming search apps also provide incomplete results. So, for this list we’ve scoured some of the most popular streaming sites and found as many horror movies released in 2024 as we could.

Netflix

Under Paris was a nice surprise when it was released in the summer. It starts off as a seemingly typical shark movie in a unique location, and then there’s a point where it takes a sharp turn into near-absurdity which is a lot of fun.

Hulu

Alien: Romulus might have been the best theatrical experience of the year, but it’s still great at home Hulu.

Peacock

You’ve probably seen the Speak No Evil trailer too many times to count this year, but this is (probably) the last time we’ll share it.

Paramount+

Smile 2 continues the momentum of the first, and it’s helping to shape the burgeoning franchise into something quite special.

Max

I Saw the TV Glow sat at the top of our “Best of 2024” list for a very long time.

Shudder/AMC+

As of this writing, Shudder has three movies in the top ten of our “Best of 2024” list, including The Devil’s Bath, Exhuma, and Infested (seen here).

Screambox

Frogman is the best found footage movie of the year. No question.

Prime Video

The quality gap between the best and least-best horror movies on Prime Video is fairly severe, but Abigail is easily one of the best.

This section only contains 2024 horror movies which you can watch for “free” as part of a Prime Video subscription. Movies on Prime Video which must be individually rented (TVOD / Transactional Video on Demand) are not included, because that list would be even more massive. Check out our New/Upcoming Horror Movies list for links to many movies from 2024 which can be rented on Prime.
