Here are the best horror movies streaming the weekend of 6/2:
Tin & Tina (2023). Streaming on Netflix. After experiencing a miscarriage at their wedding, Lola and Adolfo decide to adopt twins Tin & Tina. The children came from a convent and continue to obsess over religion after being adopted. Their religious fervor is so strong that the creepy kids interpret the bible literally.
Subspecies V: Bloodrise (2023). Streaming on Screambox. A prequel to the Subspecies story that spans 500 years in the life of the vampire Radu Vladislas. The film will follow Radu’s descent from a warrior for the Church to a depraved creature of the night. Also currently on Screambox are the four previous Subspecies films: Subspecies, Bloodstone: Subspecies II (1993), Bloodlust: Subspecies III (1994), and Subspecies 4: Bloodstorm (1998).
Follow Her (2023). Available on VOD. A streamer named Jess (Dani Barker) finds popularity online when she begins filming creepy interactions she has while responding to job postings. One poster hires her to work on a writing project with him at a remote cabin. Follow Her promises a “psycho-sexual thriller” which questions the ethical boundaries of social media.”
My Cherry Pie (2023). Available on VOD. A retro-styled slasher film about three criminals on the run from the law. Seeking safety, the men decide the best place to hide out is an abandoned hospital. Unfortunately, a masked killer uses the hospital as his hunting grounds.
The Black Demon (2023). Available on VOD. Josh Lucas stars as oilman Paul Sturges who just wants a nice vacation with his family. Unfortunately a megalodon has other plans. The Black Demon has a pretty poor rating on Letterboxd, so it might be best to wait for this movie to hit a streaming service unless you’re a die hard shark movie fan.
